Designer Profile
Inspired by Arne Jacobsen

A leading figure in Danish Modern design, Arne Jacobsen, transformed mid-20th century interior design with his remarkable furniture pieces. Jacobsen was an innovator in both architecture and furniture design. He made significant achievements early on in his career in architecture and went on to transform the field of interior design in the second half of his career.

His career was influenced by the Second World War, where he fled to Sweden and then returned to Denmark soon after the war’s end. Some of his most popular works were conceived during the post-war era.

His most famous creations include the iconic Egg Chair, Swan Chair, the Drop Chair and the retro Series 7 Chair which has remained in fashion for over 50 years.
